Designing an analytics strategy for a merchant business.

The business had to date relied heavily on individuals experience when it came to managing commercial relationships and making buying decisions.  As it embarked on a massive digital transformation and re-structure of its estate we were asked to support the new vision with a data strategy appropriate for the new business model.



  1. Client had a clear understanding of the ‘art of the possible’ for analytics
  2. Each business function had clear opportunities to use analytics set out
  3. The project team had clear next steps to follow to implement the plan and become a data driven organisation, incl. team structure, data strategy, supporting analytics, tools and systems.
  4. Clear systems in place to evaluate the business case for each analytical activity
  5. New focus on quick-wins to make rapid progress.
