This long established publishing house found themselves under pressure due to the growth of electronic books, internet shopping and smart devices, which have changed the way that consumers access and buy books. They recognised however that the data created by these advances represented a huge opportunity to create new commercial strategies.
What we did
Beyond Analysis worked with the senior team to review current capabilities, identify all of the new data sources in the business and map out a series of use cases and new opportunities from data for the business.
This data strategy was well received and the engagement moved on to a number of core analytics exercises and the development of a data lake and infrastructure for the client.
Beyond Analysis interpreted the brief well and quickly adapted to the specific environment that our business presents. They were collaborative, flexible and friendly in their approach. The broad range of skill sets offered by the company meant that they could investigate every opportunity as it presented itself.
Following a successful two month project, Beyond Analysis has kick started some exciting developments at Penguin in the areas of data analytics and insight.
